Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physician Associate to join our Cardiology team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support our vision of delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support to inpatients under the supervision of the Cardiology Attending, including performing duties within the scope of an Associate Physician.
  • Participate in patient rounds, assessments, and treatment plans, working collaboratively with the care team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, perform procedures, and document patient information in accordance with organizational standards and policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate information exchange.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of two years of postgraduate training as a medical or surgical specialist.
  • Successful completion of Part 1 of the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) or Steps 1 through 3 of the United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLEs).
  • Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) in the Associate Physician class.
  • Valid Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or eligibility to live and work in British Columbia.
Competencies
  • Demonstrates leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework, creating conditions for people to succeed.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and managing common medical problems, including acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, and common dysrhythmias.
  • Confident in recognizing and initiating response to emergency situations, such as cardiogenic shock and unstable dysrhythmias.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
