Bakery Machinery Mechanic Job Description

CEDAR BAKERY AND FOODS CANADA INC is seeking a skilled Bakery Machinery Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and install mechanical equipment, including stationary industrial machinery
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions in machinery
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Supervise other workers and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up
  • Estimate costs and materials for maintenance and repair projects
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery to prevent breakdowns
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts and commission systems and components
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a noisy and physically demanding environment
  • First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
