Job Description

Job Title: Part-time French Teacher

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $18 / hour (probationary)

Schedule: Evenings, Monday to Thursday, Saturday availability

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced French language instructor to join our team at Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. as a part-time French teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French language classes to students of various levels, from Grade 9 to 12.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach French language classes to students of various levels, from Grade 9 to 12
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 French core curriculum
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong French skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
