Senior Medical Writer & Learning Solutions Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Writer & Learning Solutions Designer to join our client-facing medical writing team at Metrix Group Inc.

This is a 12-month full-time fixed-term employment contract role, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and other factors. As a Senior Medical Writer & Learning Solutions Designer, you will be responsible for leading projects in the healthcare and learning spaces, QAing scientific content, and managing clients, vendors, and project teams.

You will have experience consulting to professionals in learning, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals, and be comfortable working with clients across various industries. Your client-focus and commitment to excellence will ensure that our deliverables help each client meet their objectives.

About This Role
  • Consult and Build Relationships with Healthcare Clients:
    • Consult with clients on learning strategy related to project needs, materials design, development, and deployment
    • Understand and identify each client's requirements, and provide them with recommendations for learning, training, and development initiatives
    • Contribute to business development initiatives through identifying opportunities, writing proposals, and participating in or leading sales presentations
    • Lead project team meetings both internally and externally
    • Provide advice and solutions to client challenges and internally to Metrix Group
  • Conduct Front-End Analysis:
    • Conduct front-end analysis (target audience analysis, technology assessment, content-audit, etc...) and use results to design and develop blended learning solutions
    • Conduct focus groups, subject-matter expert interviews, facilitate working sessions, and/or develop a survey as part of your needs assessment when appropriate
    • Write recommendations reports based on analyses
    • Identify the legal medical review process for content approval
    • Identify client-branding requirements (style-guide)
  • Design & Develop Learning Solutions:
    • Manage your project team's performance throughout the project life cycle (often managing multiple projects at a time)
    • Internally consult on and assist with the design and development of learning solutions for product and therapeutic areas, in pharma and biotech
    • Lead the creation of innovative design concepts, detailed content outlines, wireframes/storyboards
    • Identify graphics required to support content
    • Design and develop patient/physician perspectives
    • Ensure referencing is complete to client and regulatory standards
  • Implement & Evaluate Learning, Training, Development Initiatives:
    • Develop implementation plans and materials for launch and rollout
    • Develop the evaluation plan and tools for the project
    • Facilitation of instructor-led and virtual-instructor-led materials as needed
    • Leadership, Coaching, and Collaboration
    • Oversee and provide leadership to your direct reports (if applicable), project team, and peers, through leading, coaching, and consulting
    • Demonstrate visible commitment to Metrix's mission, vision, values, and business goals
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Degree in the life sciences; graduate degree preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in learning strategy, design thinking, and problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability navigating ambiguity and problem-solving capabilities
  • 3-5 years in a medical communications or medical marketing agency; experience coaching and managing people
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, and to work independently and collaborate in a high-performance team environment with demanding deadlines
  • Experience working with or consulting to large or complex organizations
  • AMWA membership an asset

$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off. Located in Toronto, ON, Canada. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada.
