Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cost Consultant to join our team in Ottawa. As a Cost Consultant, you will be involved in:
- Developing cost estimates for projects from concept through execution
- Analyzing tender returns to ensure the client receives value for money
- Engaging in value engineering discussions to identify the best solution available for the client
- Evaluating and managing contract variations, including assessing cost impacts and negotiating changes with stakeholders
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive financial reports, ensuring accurate tracking of project expenditures and forecasting future costs
- Benchmarking for validation and target-setting on major projects
- Leading project teams to ensure the client's goals are managed and achieved
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Engineering/Construction Management Degree and/or Certification or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years experience in cost estimating positions across all project phases
- Membership in relevant professional organizations is a bonus (CIQS/RICS)
- Knowledge and proficiency with cost estimating tools
