Job Description

Position Summary

Thales is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Innovation Team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data engineering solutions that support our naval platforms in-service support programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the definition of a data platform architecture that meets the business needs of the program.
  • Support data initiatives such as Technical Data Package management, data migration, and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) of complex assets.
  • Deploy and maintain tools part of the TCDS data platform.
  • Develop ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Develop data mappings and lineage.
  • Develop data quality rules.
  • Develop data orchestration workflows infrastructure.
  • Deploy and monitor AI/ML models in production.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in software engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • 7 years of experience with data engineering toolsets such as AirFlow, Argo, dbt, Nifi.
  • 7 years of experience with data architecture, data modeling techniques, and languages.
  • 7 years of experience in data quality benchmarking and analysis.
  • Experience with scripting technologies such as Python, R.
  • Knowledge of agile software engineering methodologies.
  • Ability to work on well-defined projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytic skills with a desire to learn.
  • Capable of developing strong relationships across the business through excellent customer service and business acumen.
