Job Summary:

CB Canada is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing our core accounting functions. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles and the ability to provide timely, accurate, and relevant financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statement packages for management and the parent company
• Assist in the month-end and year-end close process and meet scheduled deadlines
• Participate in the research and implementation of appropriate accounting standards, policies, and procedures
• Communicate and exchange information with all levels and departments within the organization and subsidiaries
• Assist with the integration of subsidiaries
• Monthly maintenance and review of capital asset subledger, and analysis to capital budget
• Partner with Fleet, Operations, and other functions to provide timely, accurate, complete, and relevant financial information to ensure accurate forecasts and support other financial planning and analysis initiatives
• Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
• Prepare monthly regulatory filings in accordance with provincial and federal regulations
• Communicate and exchange information with all levels and departments within the organization and subsidiaries
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance with IFRS
• Provide support with the ERP systems of the organization

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-4 years accounting experience
• CPA designation, or pursuing professional accounting designation
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ambitious self-starter who can improve processes and controls
• Ability to multi-task and meet several deadlines simultaneously
• Advanced Excel skills
• Familiar with ERP systems, experience with Sage is an asset
• Analytical, detail-oriented
