Licensed Practical Nurse

As a Licensed Practical Nurse with Interior Health Authority, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in our Emergency Department. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and planning, implementing, and providing personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
Administering oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
Operating in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and unit-specific protocols
This is a casual opportunity, which means hours are not guaranteed and may vary, and shifts may be at short notice. However, casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.
About this location/unit:
Our department consists of 14 beds, including general treatment bays, six monitored beds, two trauma bays, a negative pressure room, and a secure room. The Emergency department receives approximately 26,000 visits per year and offers state-of-the-art equipment, including a new Space Labs Cardiac Monitoring System and a Procedural Cart System. This system was designed to make all treatment areas multi-purpose by bringing the service needed directly to the patient.
