We are seeking a skilled Drywall and Acoustical Board Installer Helper to join our team at Orillia Drywall Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation of drywall and acoustical boards in various settings, including industrial, commercial, and residential projects.
Key Responsibilities- Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
- Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt as required.
- Perform routine maintenance work, including cleaning up chemical spills and removing rubble and debris.
- Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction, such as hand tools.
- Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, and measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets.
- Perform other routine maintenance jobs, such as painting and drywall repair, as needed.
- Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required.
- Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Ability to work at heights, in noisy, dusty, and hot environments.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle heavy loads and work under pressure.
- Team player with a hardworking attitude and a strong work ethic.
