About the Role

Thompson Bus & Freight Ltd. is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our heavy equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, ensuring timely and efficient repairs.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' standards.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Service attachments and working tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Verify and repair emission control systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Work Environment

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will be required to work in a dusty environment and handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair.
  • Dependability, flexibility, reliability, and a team player attitude.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Steel-toed safety boots and other personal protective equipment.
