Job Summary

SHARE Family & Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Counsellor to join our team. As a Clinical Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing case management and resource-based counselling to individuals and families experiencing crisis and mild to moderate mental health concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Work collaboratively with clients to provide case management and risk assessment, goal setting, planning, counselling, closure, and follow-up as needed.
  • Family Counselling: Provide family counselling to support clients in managing current risks and increasing their effectiveness in dealing with future concerns and challenges.
  • Collaboration and Referral: Participate in Integrated Case Management and collaborate with other service providers and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, client information systems, and MCF tracking systems.
  • Supervision and Training: Provide instruction and regular supervision to assigned interns, ensuring adherence to agency policy and practices.
  • Quality Assurance and Program Development: Participate in regular quality assurance reviews, case and team consultation/supervision, and meetings as required, while also contributing to program development.
  • Liaison and Referral: Liaise and refer with community agencies, committees, and professionals as needed.
  • Agency Activities and Values: Participate in and support agency activities, vision, mission, and values, ensuring work practices comply with agency health and safety standards and administrative records are complete, timely, and accurate.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A graduate degree in counselling, social work, psychology, or a related field, with at least 3 years of counselling experience specifically with families.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Understanding and application of resource-based counselling, ability to work from multiple modalities, speaking Farsi, knowledge of counselling theories and practices, risk assessment, and case management, as well as demonstrated written and oral communication skills, ability to engage clients, and creativity in case planning and program development.
