Job Overview

This position plays a critical role in our mission to provide clean energy solutions. As a Mechanical Design Engineering II, you will contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems and components for both traditional and new projects.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing complex electro-mechanical systems and components.
  • Leading the assembly and testing of custom equipment.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications are met.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the development of technical oversight.
  • Performing classical hand calculations and analysis (including FEA) to qualify systems and components.
  • Preparing concise design reports and technical specifications.
  • Promoting creativity and innovative approaches in the development of new technologies and nuclear systems.
  • Supporting issue resolution throughout design, manufacture, and testing of systems and components.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in conceptual design reviews and engineering change control processes.
  • Experience in the design and building of custom equipment, typically robotics, electro-mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, welding procedures, or specifications and associated inspection techniques.
