Job Title: Plumbing Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Assistant to join our team at ABM Plumbing & Heating Services Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting our plumbers in various tasks related to plumbing and heating services.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist plumbers in loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials.
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and instruct apprentices as needed.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations, estimate costs and materials, and determine piping system requirements.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, wet/damp environments, and various locations.
  • Physically demanding work with handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, and large workloads.
  • Accurate, client-focused, and team-oriented individual with good judgement.
Work Environment:

Our team works in various locations, including high-rise building construction sites, commercial settings, and residential areas. We offer a permanent position with 40 hours of work per week and a work language of English.
