Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified Chinese Language Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching Mandarin Chinese language and culture courses to students of all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging and effective language instruction to students, focusing on phonetic symbols, vocabulary, and grammatical structures
  • Introduce students to written characters and promote language proficiency through interactive and immersive learning experiences
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure students meet course objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum developments and best practices in language instruction

Requirements

  • M.A. in Chinese or equivalent degree
  • Experience in teaching introductory Chinese language courses
  • Bilingualism in French and English
