Job Summary

As a seasoned Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the growth of new and ongoing projects at Pomerleau Construction. You will leverage your trade-driven expertise to challenge industry standards and drive project success. Your responsibilities will include preparing quantity summaries, identifying project-specific prices, and building strong relationships with trade partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare quantity summaries according to plans and specs, and sort them by standardized sections and functions of the trades involved.
  • Identify project-specific prices related to key items, including labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Grow and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
  • Review all received amounts from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring their alignment with bid documents during compilation and bid closings.
  • Take part in and/or coordinate the various parties involved in the estimation of a design-build project.
  • Support in the search for new contacts subcontractors, suppliers, and work providers.
  • Suggest and quantify alternatives to bid documents to reduce construction costs of bid projects.
  • Act as a role model and mentor for junior team members, providing coaching and guidance on best practices and trade secrets.
Requirements
  • A University Degree or College Diploma in Construction project estimation or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring junior team members.
  • Strong experience working with estimation software.
  • Fluency in both official languages, written and oral (English and French).
