Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeper to join our team at Charles MacPherson Associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of a private residence in West Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, and washing floors
  • Maintaining household inventory and preparing inventory checklists
  • Daily laundry, occasional ironing and steaming, following washing instructions and principal preferences for certain fabrics
  • Closet and pantry organization
  • Trash and recycling management
  • Errands, including grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and dropping off packages
  • Special projects, including quarterly deep cleans, weekly fridge clean out, and household cupboard reorganization
  • Assisting with feeding and preparing the dogs for walks
  • Other duties as required from time to time

Requirements:

  • 3 years of previous experience working in a private residence
  • Excellent housekeeping, laundry, and ironing skills, with correct use of products and methods for fine finishes and surfaces
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage your time and weekly list of responsibilities with minimal oversight
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to succinctly and clearly communicate important updates and suggestions using the family's preferred method of communication
  • Reliability, with a consistent work schedule and punctuality for fully scheduled shifts
  • Ability to respect the family's desire for privacy and space, with the family often working from home during most of your scheduled shifts
  • Proactivity, with the ability to anticipate needs before they arise and actively look for ways to stay ahead
  • Confidentiality, with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Service-oriented, with excellent English language skills
  • Comfortable working around children and dogs
  • Valid driver's license
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Basic meal preparation skills
