Salary RangeThe estimated salary range for this position is CAD $66,000 - $93,600 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
Job DescriptionDetailed Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct various tests such as Electroencephalography (EEG) recordings, formulating technical reports for interpretation by medical staff in clinical diagnosis, and performing operating room monitoring procedures as required.
- Conduct Evoked Potential Tests such as visual, brainstem, somato-sensory evoked responses, and magnetic stimulation procedures using a variety of equipment by locating and stimulating nerves, applying recording electrodes to patients, assessing patients' responses, and making necessary adjustments to equipment to ensure a complete study is conducted.
- Formulate technical preliminary reports by analyzing recordings, measuring numerical data, describing abnormal manifestations, and forwarding calculations to physicians for use in clinical diagnosis.
- Receive and prepare patients for tests by reviewing case history and assessing the nature of the problems to determine process and direct test accordingly.
- Prepare patients for tests by receiving and interviewing patients or family members, explaining procedures, attaching electrodes and/or electromyographic equipment to appropriate areas, and monitoring patients' comfort to ensure patients are at ease while obtaining required results.
- Participate in departmental infection control programs by assessing infection control in equipment, handling/storing/disposing of needle electrodes and other supplies, and disinfecting and sterilizing equipment to safety standards in accordance with quality assurance programs.
- Assist with setting measurable goals and objectives within a team or individual environment, incorporating the organization's vision and values, goals, and corporate plan, through methods such as maintaining and updating own knowledge of clinical and professional development within area of practice, and developing plans in collaboration with supervisors for professional development; reviews progress to ensure that goals are achieved within established time frames.
Key Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based Electrophysiology practice related to conducting various diagnostic tests, including EEG.
- Skill in the use of equipment, and in techniques appropriate to the assessment of clients.
- Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills.

Education and Experience:
- Graduation with a Diploma of Technology in Electroneurophysiology (British Columbia's Institute of Technology).
- Two years' recent, related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
