Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Hard Rock Animal Hospital Professional Corporation.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of expertise in veterinary medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating animals, as well as advising clients on animal care and welfare.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests
  • Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery
  • Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases
  • Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals
  • Conduct veterinary research related to areas such as animal nutrition, health care products development and disease prevention and control
  • Perform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations
  • Provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia
Requirements
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
  • Experience an asset
