About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geriatric Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our Reactivation Care Centre, you will play a vital role in providing effective and efficient client care for adult in-patients with swallowing and/or communication difficulties.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with swallowing and/or communication disorders utilizing evidence-based practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families/caregivers, and the interprofessional team.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive client records and workload data in accordance with program, hospital, and College standards.
  • Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
  • Participate in educational programs for patients, families, and staff.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized academic institution.
  • Registered member in good standing with CASLPO.
  • Current knowledge of a wide range of swallowing and communication disorders.
  • Demonstrated 2+ years of relevant clinical experience with the geriatric population.
  • Expertise in stroke management an asset.

What We Offer

A highly competitive total compensation package including pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay, and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan. This is a Part Time Permanent position with 8 hour shifts, day shifts, including weekends.

Estimate Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000 per year based on location and experience.
