We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Meister Construction Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to carpentry, including preparing estimates, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling and installing various components of buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Requirements
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in the field of carpentry
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy environments
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions
