Construction Economist Internship Opportunity

We are a leading drywall construction company seeking a skilled Construction Economist to join our team on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in estimating and cost management, with a strong understanding of labour and material costs.
Job Responsibilities- Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for various construction projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
- Operate Computer-Aided Design (CADD) software and other computer systems to prepare estimates and monitor project expenditures
- Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads, as well as set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
- Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to communicate changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of estimating packages, take-off packages, scheduling packages, and spreadsheet software
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation software
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Compensation and Benefits:
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
Work Arrangements:
This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week, with opportunities for career advancement within the company.
