Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Administrator to join our team at Island Health. The successful candidate will possess a Diploma in Financial Management and a minimum of three years' recent experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage financial data and perform mathematical and financial calculations with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, residents, families, and stakeholders through verbal and written communication.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders through diplomacy and conflict resolution skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions.
  • Take initiative to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Operate financial software applications at an intermediate level and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop business writing skills to produce high-quality reports and documents.
  • Typing skills are essential for this role.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
