Job Summary

The Financial Analyst III plays a critical role in providing financial guidance to management through the analysis of products, operations, capital requests, and strategic projects. This position involves supporting cross-functional projects and teams by performing cost-benefit analysis, identifying areas for improvement, and developing recommendations for management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct financial analysis and evaluation of data for corporate and cross-functional projects, utilizing financial, statistical, and computer modeling techniques to provide recommendations to management.
  2. Lead special and cross-functional projects, ensuring the business planning process is followed for the operating unit, including coordination of target development, timely business plan assumption, and information flow to analysis and/or operating management for recommendation completion.
  3. Analyze major operational and strategic proposals affecting operating units, providing feasibility studies that focus on corporate impact.
  4. Monitor and report on the operational and financial performance of implemented projects, comparing actual financial impact to the original proposed plan, and updating management with analyses, trends, and recommendations on a regular basis.
  5. Review projects, investigating financial risks and benefits, summarizing corporate impact for senior management, and providing alternative recommended solutions.
  6. Act as a mentor to analysts, ensuring they receive appropriate orientation and development training.
  7. Respond to ad hoc requests assigned by management, requiring the ability to develop concepts in resolving requests, including identifying and coordinating relevant parties.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, preferred, with 8+ years of relevant experience. A Master's of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or GED, with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in financial analysis, financial planning, econometrics, engineering, business consulting, project management, accounting audit, operational analysis, or a related area.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, applying common financial metrics and methodologies, including Return on Investment (ROI), Net Present Value (NPV), and allocation of fixed/variable methodologies.
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with systems, such as Oracle, Hyperion Essbase/Planning, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Strong team player.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements

This role requires:

  1. The ability to follow policies and procedures.
  2. The ability to read, write, and interpret information.
  3. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  4. The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  5. The ability to sit, walk, or stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  6. Visual acuity, including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
