Agriculture Specialist, Saskatchewan North District

About the Role
The Agriculture Specialist is a key position within Scotiabank's Business Banking department, responsible for driving profitable sales of credit and non-credit products to agriculture customers and prospects in Canada. This role requires a strong understanding of the agriculture industry, as well as excellent relationship-building and sales skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and develop relationships with high-value agriculture customers and prospects, with a focus on acquiring new business and growing existing relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, and Wealth Partners to provide a coordinated market approach to agriculture services.
- Acquire new agriculture customer relationships through involvement in industry events, relationships with local farmers and agriculture businesses, and partnerships with Scotiabank's network of associations and community groups.
- Maintain and grow a portfolio of agriculture customers, providing specialized expertise and business/finance advice to support their success.
- Proactively promote Scotiabank's image within the agriculture community through participation and leadership in community business groups and market events.
Requirements
- Experience in the agriculture industry, either through education or work experience.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as accounting, finance, business, or economics.
- Strong knowledge of business financial statements, particularly in the agriculture sector.
- Working knowledge of competitor offerings and alternate sources of financing.
- Ability to build and maintain key relationships, with a strong focus on sales and business development.
- Ability to become a trusted advisor to clients, providing holistic solutions that add value to their businesses.
