We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Capitalization and Feature Cost Reporting. The successful candidate will provide governance, control, reporting, and support to ensure Platforms adhere to policies and best practices for complete and accurate Capitalization and Feature Cost Reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with Platforms to follow and adhere to the Bank's Software Accounting Policy related to work delivered using TD Scaled Agile (TDSA) delivery approach under Next Evolution of Work (NEW).
- Provide constructive challenge, coaching, and support to ensure partners have the information they need to make decisions and do the right thing.
- Be the Finance subject matter expert on Capitalization and Feature Cost Reporting, while demonstrating a holistic viewpoint on key components of NEW.
- Provide value-added financial analysis and advisory support to business partners to develop and execute strategic plans and goals or respond to ad hoc requests for business analysis.
- Liaise with P&T Finance team during the planning process to ensure Capitalization and Amortization are effectively incorporated into the Annual Plan/Quarterly Forecast.
- Conduct analysis of forecast results and broader trends to provide a reasonable view of the future capitalization of the business with advice to improve decision-making.
- Provide insightful and relevant commentary to P&T Finance on business results, forecast, and Plan.
- Develop monthly and quarterly result packages. Conduct progressive analysis on monthly results and provide value-added advice and guidance.
- Be responsible for identifying financial opportunities, conducting the necessary analysis to develop options, and offering well-supported recommendations to senior management. This includes strong written and in-person presentation skills.
- Proactively identify issues and recommend actions to senior management.
- Provide leadership and support to the P&T Finance team, fostering a positive and rewarding work environment.
- Business and/or accounting designation strongly preferred or working towards designation (MBA/CFA/CMA/CGA/CA).
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel (Power Pivot), MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Detailed knowledge of financial accounting processes and internal control structures.
- Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities – ability to consolidate inputs into clear, concise analysis and ultimately business decisions.
- Strong leadership capabilities to work effectively with senior executives.
- Ability to lead and manage in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to see business opportunities warranting further review and analysis.
- Excellent analytical, logical, and organizational skills are required – able to provide clear and concise summaries of relevant data, observations, and recommendations to management (turns complexity into simplicity).
- Ability to lead and manage change.
- Organizational awareness and the ability to balance the viewpoints of Finance and the business units.
- Strong relationship management and advisory skills are required to support business partners and assist them with overcoming challenges.
- Ability to influence and motivate others, including those who do not have a direct reporting relationship.
- Ability to negotiate, problem-solve, and make decisions.
- Ability to prioritize competing requests and multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
