Cash Handling Specialist Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Count Supervisor, Manager, Cage or the Supervisor, Slot & Cage, this position is responsible for the counting and movement of cash assets from the gaming floor. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports our learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities
  • Counting bills, coins and cash equivalents: Ensure accurate and efficient counting procedures are followed to prevent discrepancies and maintain the integrity of our financial operations.
  • Organizing and securing the storage of count carts, drop boxes, drop buckets and bill cartridges for count pulls: Maintain a clean and organized workspace to facilitate efficient count procedures and minimize the risk of errors or losses.
  • Reporting suspect cash and cash equivalents: Identify and report any discrepancies or suspicious activity to ensure the integrity of our financial operations and maintain a secure work environment.
  • Verifying and reconciling before and after counts: Thoroughly verify and reconcile counts to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Bagging, bundling, securing and transporting counts: Ensure counts are properly secured and transported to prevent losses or discrepancies.
  • Providing information for reporting purposes: Accurately and efficiently provide information required for reporting purposes.
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with various operational departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal and external guests: Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with internal and external guests to maintain a positive and welcoming work environment.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations: Maintain awareness and adhere to relevant laws, regulations and policies to ensure compliance and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Education and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent to demonstrate a strong foundation in basic education.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in high volume cash handling and counting: Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in high volume cash handling and counting to demonstrate a strong understanding of cash handling procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License: Meet the necessary requirements to obtain a gaming license and maintain the required certifications and training.
Work Environment Considerations
  • Back office environment, standing or sitting for long periods of time, non-traditional work hours: Work in a back office environment, standing or sitting for long periods of time, and be prepared to work non-traditional hours to meet the demands of our business.
