As a Dispatcher at Canada Cartage, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our trucking services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assigning routes and loads to drivers, monitoring their progress, and ensuring on-time deliveries while responding to unforeseen challenges such as traffic or weather disruptions.
  • Maintaining effective communication with drivers, customers, and other departments to streamline logistics.
What You'll Do

As a Dispatcher, your tasks will include:

  • Assessing and supporting driver inquiries, supplying drivers with necessary information and tools for their trips.
  • Supporting senior planner and account coordinator requests, completing daily add-ons as required.
  • Utilizing Back Office and XRS to track and monitor driver activity.
  • Ensuring Trip Sheets are complete and A1 live updates are complete, progressing trips as needed.
  • Performing CSR duties, responding to customer requests in a timely manner.
  • Sorting inbound driver paperwork to assist the Admin Coordinator with payroll.
  • Supplying CSR with information needed for customer reports.
  • Creating ERR requests and communicating effectively with the shop regarding repairs.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 1-2 years of experience in transportation (preferred).
  • A high school diploma.
  • Capable verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven experience handling multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility to work a flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime if demand arises.
