We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at RONA. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales and margin growth, while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe and clean store environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of associates to achieve sales and margin goals, while driving operational efficiencies and maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Manage inventory, merchandising, sales, and customer service activities in various departments, including Lawn and Garden, Electrical, Plumbing, Hardware, Tools, and Pro.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive Installed Sales, Special Order Sales, and Pro Sales across assigned departments.
- Collaborate with peers and district managers to assess customer needs and develop effective solutions.
- Ensure associates pursue sales leads and generate the right amount and type of leads.
- Identify and communicate barriers to superior service, and provide solutions to address them.
- Drive execution of Pro sales and service activities, including studying Pro business trends and providing direction to the Pro Department Supervisor.
- Maintain relationships with top Pro accounts and local Pro Sales Managers.
- Teach and demonstrate effective use of RONA's selling and service model.
- Model behaviors that deliver SMART customer service, maintain in-stock positions, and keep the store clean and safe.
- Interview, select, develop, and lead a team that supports product categories in assigned areas.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (an asset).
- 3 years of experience leading associates in a retail environment.
- 1 year of experience performing manager-on-duty responsibilities, including management of daily store operations and processes.
- Knowledge of interior/exterior product categories.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional work environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
