Job Title: Hydraulic Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Engineer to join our team in North Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and facilitating planning and engineering studies for water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and/or participate in client development activities, assessing potentials, and assisting with position and capture strategies for water/wastewater design projects.
  • Provide technical design support for infrastructure-related projects, including water distribution, water and wastewater pump stations, and sanitary sewer collection systems.
  • Make independent assessments of engineering problems and recommend solutions to engineering discipline leads, resolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner.
  • Provide construction support services, including shop drawing reviews, response to RFIs, site visits, and attend meetings.
  • Implement industry-leading solutions and develop innovative solutions.
  • Take technical and time management responsibilities of tasks and delegate effectively to junior staff.
  • Serve as Project Manager for projects of different levels of complexity and size.
  • Ability to work well with a dynamic and ambitious team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 6+ years of technical engineering skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related engineering field required, Master's degree a plus.
  • Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer or eligibility for registration with EGBC.
  • Experience in modeling of water distribution, wastewater conveyance, or stormwater systems with strong knowledge and background in hydraulic modeling, including knowledge of modeling software such as ICM, PCSWMM, InfoWater, WaterCAD, and SewerCAD.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and prepare written reports and documents.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff.
