Role Summary

The Director of Care - Nursing Leadership is a key position at Jarlette Health Services, responsible for ensuring the provision of optimum care to promote the well-being of each individual resident.

About the Role

This leadership role requires a Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario and experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology). The ideal candidate will have a successful completion of or enrollment in Long Term Care Senior Management or equivalent.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, implement, evaluate, report, and document actions to affect positive outcomes related to residents' health
  • Ensure nursing staff perform assigned tasks and duties
  • Responsible for coordination, implementation, and overall management of Home-wide programs such as Skin care, Behaviour Management, Infection Control, Back Care, CQI/Risk Management, Palliative Care, Quality of Life, Health and Safety
  • Ensure accurate completion of residents' records reflecting resident health status and care provided complying with legislative and Home requirements
  • Participate in orientation process for residents, students, volunteers, and nursing personnel
