Job Description

The Strategic Media Acquisition Specialist plays a pivotal role in negotiating with media vendors to secure cost-effective delivery of objectives, striking a delicate balance between price and quality factors. This negotiation is reflective of the strategy and brand requirements of approved campaigns in TV, OLV, and Radio within a team environment.

This role demands a candidate who is analytical, mathematically proficient, and well-organized, with great attention to detail. The ideal candidate must be well-informed about the TV, Radio, and OLV landscape (programming, trends, formats, ownership) and research.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Negotiate approved executions – TV (including linear optimized), Radio, and OLV
  2. Collaborate with specialty teams to identify and implement efficient business practices
  3. Work with media vendors regarding tactical aspects of the media buy to achieve campaign objectives and/or fulfill client requests
  4. Manage contracts/insertion orders and any resulting revisions with media vendors
  5. Input broadcast/OLV media buys
  6. Actualize media spending
  7. Assist with financials
  8. Clearing of invoices
  9. Train media assistants
  10. Prepare/develop reports in PowerPoint and Excel – routine and custom reports
  11. Usage of all media-related systems
  12. Media management - DDS, OLV buying platform
  13. Media Research - nLogic

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of Associate Degree in Media; Bachelor's degree preferred
  2. Track record of success throughout post-secondary career and previous employment
  3. Minimum of 2+ years of media buying experience
  4. Media systems proficiency
  5. Strong analytical and math proficiency skills
  6. Solid verbal and written communication skills
  7. Technical proficiency, particularly with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  8. Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  9. Able to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects, and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  10. Detail-oriented and able to produce accurate work product

Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
