CAD Technician

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our Western Canada Construction Team. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for creating and editing AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and millwork drawings. You will also develop and provide support for store drawings, equipment specifications, and construction standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and edit AutoCAD drawings as directed.
- Complete construction drawing packages for tender and construction.
- Liaise with Merchandising and Operations departments to update drawings as required.
- Assist in project scheduling and deficiency follow-up as needed.
- Manage multiple store drawing projects simultaneously as required.
- Collaborate with Construction field personnel to ensure drawing accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with Facilities Administrator to support equipment orders and project tenders.
- Strategize with vendor partners to ensure all equipment specifications are accurate in drawings.
- Participate in field visits and meetings as requested by management.
- Promptly and effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
- Maintain computer-based filing system for store drawings.
- Monitor and track project progress.
- Keep internal drawings up to date.
- Comply with company and department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- University degree / college diploma in Architectural Technologies, Architectural Drafting or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in relevant field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Tech-savvy and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Administrative and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to busy environment with changing responsibilities, competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization including other departments, contractors, architects and consultants.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Energetic team player with a professional demeanor.
