Job Summary
">The Director of People will lead the development and implementation of human resource strategies, programs, and plans to support our annual business objectives.
Main Responsibilities
">- Provide operational oversight for the People team and senior-level expertise in areas such as labour relations, recruitment, onboarding, immigration, training, and performance management.
- Develop and execute new, competitive, and creative human resource strategies, programs, and initiatives to drive business results.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate employees in the People Department to foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Investigate and resolve complex complaints submitted to the People Department.
- Provide advice and expertise to management on handling difficult performance issues and labour relations matters.
- Drive internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives and Respectful Workplace education.
- Oversee the management of immigration applications, ensuring compliance with application processes.
- Create and strive to exceed KPIs that drive continuous improvements in HR.
- Collaborate with other People leaders to develop and implement effective HR strategies.
Requirements and Qualifications
">- A degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- A senior Human Resource professional with 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience and at least 5 years in a senior capacity.
- Senior-level expertise in all aspects of HR, including employee and labour relations, training, recruitment, immigration, benefits administration, and conducting investigations.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing creative HR strategies and programs.
- A strong working knowledge of HR data and technologies.
- Experience collaborating with unions and dealing with complex union and employee relations issues.
- A proactive individual who faces challenges head-on with tenacity and determination.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to handle complex HR issues with sensitivity, objectivity, and professionalism.
