CB Canada is seeking a skilled Risk Analyst to join our team. As a Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing risk management issues, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and developing strategies to minimize losses and insurance costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor risk management and profit and loss exposures for North American fixed income and derivatives markets
  • Analyze and manage risk management issues by identifying, measuring, and making decisions on operational or enterprise risks
  • Develop and implement risk management programs to reduce losses and insurance costs
  • Research accidents or losses involving company personnel or products
  • Maintain input or data quality of risk management systems
  • Identify key risks and mitigating factors of potential investments
  • Produce reports or presentations that outline findings and recommend changes
Requirements:
  • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
  • Working knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data
  • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software
  • Bachelor's degree in math or related financial discipline required
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience required
  • Knowledge of financial instruments (fixed income and derivatives)
  • Market risk metrics regulations and market risk metrics
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills to facilitate working with colleagues at all levels of the Organization
  • Proficient with MS applications
  • Excel (intermediate - pivot tables, v-lookup, common functions)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in mathematics or financial discipline
  • 1+ years of experience with Market Risk Measurement
  • CFA, FRM
  • VBA or Python knowledge
  • Good understanding of risk management, governance, and controls practices
Work Arrangements:

Hybrid work arrangement available
