Precast Concrete Quality Assurance Specialist

With over 60 years of experience, our team has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada.
We cover a vast market area including the Atlantic Provinces and the New England region of the United States.
Our manufacturing process involves a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs.
We have two facilities: one for custom components and another in Saint John that produces standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent quality control across our concrete plants and fostering a culture where quality is paramount.
This role requires hands-on leadership skills and problem-solving abilities to thrive in a fast-paced multi-project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, monitor, troubleshoot and optimize concrete mixes for our plants, including specialty mixes for structural and architectural precast concrete elements and bridge structures
- Manage overall Quality Control systems from laboratory requirements through to final inspection requirements, working closely with the Quality Control Manager
- Travel to provide oversight and training at customer sites and within our Maritimes and New England regions
- Create and implement Quality Programs for both plants according to industry standards such as PCI, CPCI and Industry Standards
- Coordinate field/plant and laboratory testing of construction materials produced by our Sand & Gravel operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil or related discipline
- Academic or industry exposure to concrete mix design / materials engineering
- Professional Engineering designation or an Engineer in Training
- Prior experience in a quality assurance environment with a focus on concrete mix designs
- Supervisory experience in the concrete industry would be considered an asset
