Role Summary:

We are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our multi-disciplinary team. As an RPN, you will be responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards.

You will work closely with residents, families, and teams to build trusted relationships through effective communication. Your role will involve implementing and evaluating care plans, teaching, delegating, and directing unregulated care providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to residents according to their individual needs and care plans
  • Assess, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans
  • Teach and delegate tasks to unregulated care providers
  • Direct and supervise unregulated care providers as needed
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province
  • Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge and experience working with seniors
  • Strong drive, respect, and understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or willingness to obtain one
