Plumber - Installation and Maintenance Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team at EllisDon. As a Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing fixtures and systems in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair sinks, showers, toilets, water coolers, ice machines, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • System Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair chilled water, hot water, and glycol coils in AHUs, hot water heating equipment, lawn sprinklers, and water treatment piping systems.
  • Equipment Installation and Repair: Install, maintain, and repair kitchen equipment, coffee machines, wending machines, grease traps, plaster traps, and other related equipment.
  • Patient Care Plumbing: Install, maintain, and repair patient care related plumbing equipment and fixtures, such as sterilizers, water-cooled machinery, bed pan flashers, and macerators.
  • Steam and Condensate Devices: Install, maintain, and repair minor steam/condensate devices, such as steam traps, humidifiers, safety valves, pressure gauges, thermometers, and sight glasses.
  • Drainage System Maintenance: Unplug sink, toilet, roof drain, floor drain, and clear any drainage piping, including glass pipe, PVC pipe, or cast iron pipe.
  • Welding and Brazing: Weld, braze, and solder piping and fittings as necessary.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on medical gas outlets, fire suppression sprinkler systems, lawn sprinklers, plumbing fixtures, and other related equipment.
  • Medical Gas Line Installation and Repair: Install and repair medical gas lines in patient rooms and operating rooms.
  • Fire Suppression and Lawn Sprinkler Installation and Repair: Install and repair fire suppression and lawn sprinkler lines and fixtures.
  • Closure of Access Holes: Close access holes in the ceiling by replacing ceiling tiles or closing access doors.
  • Parts Sourcing: Source parts and accessories as required to complete repairs.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Keep the work area orderly, clean, and safe.
  • Equipment and Supply Care: Ensure proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.

Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario Plumbing Certificate or Equivalent: Possess a valid Ontario Plumbing Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Have 3-5 years of maintenance plumbing experience.
  • Language Skills: Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Physical Abilities: Be able to work at height, using step ladders, scissor lifts, telescopic booms, and lift up to 20Kg.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Have the ability to read and interpret schematics, plumbing drawings, instructions, and Operation & Maintenance Manuals. Possess knowledge and ability to work with plumbing tools and devices safely.
  • Medical Clearance: Must successfully meet the medical clearance requirements of the Acute Care Facility.
