Wastewater Treatment Specialist

Adecco Canada is seeking a skilled Wastewater Operator to work in Sparwood, BC. This long-term contract role offers a competitive salary of $60-$70 per hour. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of wastewater treatment systems, maintaining high safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and inspect equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, and chemical pumps.
- Interpret SCADA and lab data; adjust equipment to optimize processing.
- Record daily operational data and coordinate adjustments with shift operators.
- Lay, connect, and test water and sewer lines; disinfect, flush, and repair water mains and sewer lines.
- Operate and maintain wastewater lift stations, perform repairs on pumps, motors, chlorinators, and valves.
- Safely handle, load, and unload chemicals.
- Regulate system flows and pressures by starting or shutting down pumps.
- Perform pump efficiency tests and collect water samples for analysis.
Requirements:
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in water treatment facility operations.
- EOCP Program, Diploma in Sciences, Environmental Technology, or equivalent training.
- Water Treatment Certification: WWT Level III or higher.
- Experience with PLCs, HMI systems, and membrane filtration.
- Strong mechanical understanding of process equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent.
