Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PCBA Supervisor to lead our PCBA department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Oversight: Provide direct supervision, training, and guidance to PCBA Machine Operators, Assemblers, and other production staff to ensure adherence to processes and work instructions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure departmental safety policies and procedures are implemented and maintained, and that all employees are aware of and comply with HSE controls.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot equipment problems to ensure machine availability, reliability, and quality, and perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Performance Metrics: Review daily metrics and participate in Tiered Daily Accountability Meetings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend measures to improve methods, equipment performance, quality, and efficiency, and implement changes as approved.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Confer with other departments and production supervisors as required to coordinate activities and ensure a smooth production process.
  • Employee Development: Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and mentoring, and ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Develop and produce various ad-hoc reports and metrics as requested by management, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Inventory Management: Schedule material orders, assign work, and ensure production of accurate parts/products as per drawings while maintaining quality.
  • Tooling and Equipment: Recognize tooling requirements that will reduce labor content and/or improve quality, and source and provide justification for budgets for new equipment and tooling.
  • 5S and Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, and support and maintain 5S in all areas.
  • Red Tag Area Management: Monitor the red tag area(s) and disposition material in a timely manner.
  • Safety Talks: Provide monthly safety talks to employees.
  • HSE Integration: Understand the HSE hazards, risks, and controls of the operations under their control, and integrate HSE programs and performance into continuous improvement and root cause analysis activities.
  • Problem Escalation: Respond to problems in a timely manner, and coach and mentor others to solve problems rapidly at all levels of the organization.
Requirements and Skills
  • Education: College diploma or equivalent in a related field, such as manufacturing electronics.
  • Experience: 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing/production, with a strong background in PCBA production.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills, with the ability to perform basic mathematical functions and rapidly solve problems. Strong mentoring, motivation, coaching, and people management skills, with a strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other MS Office programs, with experience with MRP programs (MS Dynamics or equivalent) and soldering and IPC standards an asset.
