About the Role: As a Community Nest Leader, you will play a vital part in MacEwan University's first-year transition program. Your primary responsibility will be to lead an assigned group of ~50 students, providing social engagement opportunities that foster inclusivity, community, social well-being, and integration to campus life.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Holding weekly one-hour drop-in meetings to engage students and offer social interaction
  • Attending collaborative Nest Leader meetings
  • Providing timely updates to the Coordinator, Peer Mentorship
  • Organizing weekly Community Nest engagement opportunities
  • Supporting with the organization and execution of monthly events


What We're Looking For: The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. They will also have public speaking skills, organizational and time-management skills, problem-solving skills, event planning skills, and the ability to adapt to change.

Key Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at MacEwan University with a minimum of 18 credits completed in your program of study
  • In good academic standing with a minimum 2.70 GPA
  • The ability to work from June 26 to August 21 and attend two full-day mandatory Community Nest Leader training sessions
