Job Description:

We are seeking high-calibre candidates to join our fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team working on flight-focused and near-term space development activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop state-of-the-art mechanical systems for spacecraft, utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Work on spacecraft structures, payload, and ground support mechanical hardware from requirements to integration and test.
  • Perform detailed design tasks, interface with customers, and communicate project plans and timelines.
  • Develop test plans and procedures, support structural testing, and coordinate with suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or STEM-related field, with at least two years of experience in space or aviation mechanical system design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T), 3D Printing, Design for Manufacturing, and Mechanics of Metallic and Composite Materials.
  • Experience with composite structures, adhesive systems, honeycomb panel construction, and space-qualified mechanisms/deployables.
  • Familiarity with project management practices and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the space industry working with government customers, such as the Canadian Space Agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and/or the European Space Agency.
  • In-depth design and development knowledge in several spacecraft subsystem areas, including Structure, Thermal, Mechanisms, Surface Mobility Operations, Deployables, Payload Integration, and Robotics.
