The Business Risk Analyst will be responsible for scrutinizing and evaluating FINTRAC regulatory reports, focusing on quality assurance and timeliness of reporting. Guided by Bank policy, this individual will receive direct supervision from a Manager.
This role involves reviewing, validating, and correcting Large Cash Transaction (LCT), Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Ministerial Directive (MD) reports for submissions to FINTRAC. Additionally, the candidate will monitor LCT and EFT reports for submissions to FINTRAC, ensuring that reports are filed on time.
Key responsibilities include using Excel to review and correct reports requiring quality assurance (QA) corrections, identifying, tracking, and communicating system improvement opportunities and analytic defects, and participating in the implementation process. The ideal candidate will also assist in creating and maintaining analytical tools and reporting dashboards (e.g., Power BI) in respect to FINTRAC regulatory reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A university degree and/or college diploma in a business or technical discipline (Accounting, Finance, or a related field) with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, particularly with respect to FINTRAC regulatory reporting (including SWIFT EFT (e.g., MT 103, MX Messages), NON-SWIFT EFT and LCTR).
- Good understanding of FINTRAC reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of AML, Fraud and BNS client systems.
- Experience/understanding in BNS front-line processes and procedures (LCT or wire payments processing).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to exercise diplomacy and judgement, to effectively work with end users, members of project teams, and stakeholders across the global organization.
