Transportation Operations Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lot Attendant to join our team at First Student Shared Services. As a Lot Attendant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our bus fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre- and Post-Operational Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of buses to ensure they are in good working condition, including checking oil, antifreeze, power steering, transmission fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, and belts.
  • Fueling and Maintenance: Dispense fuel, check oil, and perform light maintenance tasks as needed to ensure buses are ready for operation.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of fuel usage, meter readings, and other relevant data.
  • Communication: Notify the Location Manager or designee when a fuel delivery is required and ensure that accurate stick readings are taken before and after delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Maintenance Department to ensure buses are properly maintained and fueled.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of bus maintenance and ability to learn maintenance skills.
  • Physical Demands: Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.
