Spectrum Health Care Inc. is a leading home care provider seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist Consultant to support clients in Toronto. This role offers an estimated annual salary of $145,600 - $186,000 based on 30-40 hours of work per week at $70 - $90/hour.

This opportunity will enable you to provide in-home and virtual consultations with patients and collaborate with Spectrum leadership, enhancing our ability to deliver rehabilitative services in the community. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to work autonomously while being part of a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities, identifying areas of impairment, and establishing treatment goals.
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patients' needs, incorporating various therapeutic techniques and interventions.
  • Provide direct therapy sessions to improve patients' speech production, language comprehension, articulation, voice quality, fluency, and swallowing function.
  • Utilize a range of treatment modalities, including articulation therapy, language therapy, oral motor exercises, cognitive-communication therapy, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.
  • Assist patients and families in obtaining equipment and devices that facilitate effective communication strategies.
  • Offer guidance and support to patients, families, and caregivers to promote the carryover of therapy techniques and strategies into daily life.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree from a reputable Speech Language Pathology program.
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Prior experience in a community setting is highly valued.
  • A valid Ontario driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, interpreting results, and formulating evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Experience with various assessment tools and therapy techniques commonly used in speech-language pathology.
