The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase Indigenous participation in our processes and ensure that the perspectives of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples are reflected in our policy-development process.

About the Role

This position requires a skilled and motivated individual who can work effectively with internal stakeholders and external Indigenous parties to achieve our goals. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in building relationships, communicating with Indigenous groups, and leading teams. They will also possess excellent leadership competencies, including creating vision and strategy, mobilizing people, upholding integrity and respect, collaborating with partners and stakeholders, promoting innovation and guiding change, and achieving results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase Indigenous participation in our processes
  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that Indigenous perspectives are reflected in our policy-development process
  • Build and maintain relationships with external Indigenous parties
  • Lead teams and provide guidance and support to staff

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and current issues, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will also need to be proficient in both official languages, English and French, and willing to travel.
