Job Overview

Immigrate is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Corman Park, SK.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment such as backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and graders to perform various tasks including excavation, moving, loading, and grading earth, rock, gravel, or other materials during construction and related activities.

You will also be responsible for removing snow and ice through winter months, clearing brush and stumps prior to logging activities, and building roads at logging and surface mining sites.

Additional duties include providing a safe way to remove snow from parking lots using dump trucks, graders, loaders, and skid steers, operating heavy paving and surfacing equipment to lay, spread, or compact concrete, asphalt, and other surface materials during highway and road construction, and operating power shovels to excavate rock, ore, or other materials from open-pit mines, quarries, or construction pits.

You will also be responsible for moving, loading, and unloading cargo, conducting pre-operational checks on equipment, and cleaning, lubricating, and refilling equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to be punctual, have attention to detail, and possess a Class 3 or higher equivalent license.

You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, be willing to work in all weather conditions, and have your own transportation.

Experience with skid steer, compaction, paver, cold planing, loader, grader, dump truck, motor scraper, and dozer is an asset.
