Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Lab Patient Technician to join our team at LifeLabs. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our specimen collection process.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with patients, explaining the specimen collection process and ensuring they follow necessary test protocols.
- Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect Holter monitors, and conduct ECG tracings.
- Collect and process special test specimens, such as medical/legal drug screens and clinical trials, and complete related documentation.
- Maintain strong client relationships, responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
- Enter patient demographics, requisition information, and other relevant data into our system.
- Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
- Ability to maintain the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
