About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our Canada Data Office at Société Financière Manuvie. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines on Azure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Engineering: Collaborate with business stakeholders and advanced analytics partners to gain a deep understanding of data and design connected data sets that enable users to self-serve.
  • Leadership: Lead a team of data engineers, mentor, and guide them to promote a customer-first approach.
  • Infrastructure Management: Ensure Azure applications run within SLA, implement robustness and security measures, and automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Implement automated code deployment using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Agile Methodology: Participate in Agile sprints and ceremonies, supporting rapid iteration and development.
  • Data Lineage: Maintain the inventory of critical data elements and lineage.
  • Collaboration: Foster strong relationships and collaboration with various teams and partners within the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with 5+ years of experience working with Azure-related data technologies.
  • Solid understanding of Azure infrastructure, including subscriptions, resource groups, resources, access control, and security principles.
