We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our Calgary Instrumentation team at WSP Canada.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and partnering on major infrastructure projects in Canada. As a Senior Controls Engineer with us, you will be part of our growing team using your skills to complete and develop design criteria, specify instrumentation, collaborate with counterparts, and provide expertise and client deliverables on projects.

What You Can Expect to Do Here
  • You'll use your expertise to complete and develop design criteria and standardized technical specifications, specify instrumentation (selection, technical data sheets, bid analysis and recommendations, instrumentation sizing), collaborate with our many counterparts in all our different disciplines at WSP Canada and provide expertise and client deliverables on projects.
  • You'll manage relationships with internal and external clients and ensure that their needs are understood and met, providing your guidance and expertise;
  • You'll assist in the development of PIDs by ensuring proper instrument symbology and control loop definition.
  • You'll participate in model reviews to ensure proper installation of instrumentation best practices.
Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering/instrumentation or technical diploma in industrial instrumentation is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Energy or Oil and Gas Industry is necessary.
  • You have knowledge in instrumentation selection for various processes and knowledge of industrial process in various industries.
  • A registered professional engineer in the province of Alberta is an asset.
  • You possess strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
