Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Cooper Equipment Rentals. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting scheduled mechanical maintenance and inspections for a variety of equipment, including man lifts, forklifts, scissor lifts, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct scheduled mechanical maintenance and inspections for equipment
  • Coordinate sub-contractors to complete annual inspections
  • Respond to unscheduled mobile maintenance (breakdowns)
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation
  • Maintain a clean work vehicle and work area
  • Follow company and work-site policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Fully licensed Truck and Coach or Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic (310T or 421A license)
  • Participate in drug and alcohol testing required to enter the work site
  • Valid G driver's license with clean or satisfactory driver's abstract
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing construction equipment
  • Available to work on-call as needed
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Own tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
